Retaining walls will be added to 114th Street in several locations. The wall north of Mason Court will be a fill wall and will vary in height from two to six feet. The walls near Crestridge Road will be cut walls that vary in height from one to four feet. Example schematics are shown on the right. The materials used for the walls have not been determined yet, but could include modular blocks, cast-in-place, or large "Stone Strong" blocks.
AESTHETICS
This project will incorporate roadside landscaping as part of the Green Streets Master Plan. This may include various types of trees and grasses along the corridor, as well as retaining walls.
These features have yet to be designed and will be coordinated with the Planning and Parks Department. The landscaping shown in the artistic typicals may not be what is actually constructed.
RIGHT-OF-WAY/APPRAISALS
This project will involve acquiring some additional right-of-way from property owners at intersections. While some right-of-way will need to be purchased, temporary construction easements may be needed from other properties.
If your property is affected, you will be contacted by the City of Omaha Right-of-Way Department. A city representative is present at tonight's meeting.
